Daylighting is the art and science of bringing outside light insideWith the increased visibility of the term "daylighting" in our environmental lexicon you could claim it was the newest and hottest topic in green building. Only the latter would be true - daylighting certainly is a hot topic - but it's been around since someone carved a hole out of a solid wall to invite in the sun. All buildings receive some amount of daylight, however, the term 'daylit' refers to buildings specifically designed or retrofitted to efficiently capture and distribute daylight as their primary lighting source. Up until now, that has been a very passive technique. Today, Ciralight has the innovative technology to bring daylight into a building in the most efficient and cost effective manner possible. ![]()

Isn’t it amazing that we have all this sunlight available, and yet we construct buildings to shut off most of it and light thousands of square feet with costly man-generated electricity? Even in buildings with well-spaced skylights, there is a lack of quality lighting, even on sunny days. Even more problematic is the fact that the amount of light on a sunny day depends on the time of day and the position of the sun. Conventional skylights do not have the ability to focus and magnify the sunlight, much less track the sun throughout the day. Although a bit more effective that using fluorescent lighting, skylights don't deliver the required lumens to create a sufficient work or retail environment.
